Time and Place of Opening Bids. Sealed proposals for the daily watering of outdoor hanging baskets and containerized planters in the Central Business District and Village Properties in the downtown area of the Village of Westmont will be received at 155 E. Burlington Avenue, Westmont, Illinois until 1:00 P.M., May 5, 2023, and at that time will be publicly opened and unit price total read aloud. Description of Work. The proposed work consists of the daily watering of approximately 264 hanging baskets and 53 containerized planters in the Central Business District and downtown area of the Village of Westmont. Some of the planters are Earth Planter brand and will be watered every other day. Also included is the application of Village-provided fertilizer approximately three (3) times per week. Information for Bidders. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Village of Westmont website, westmont.illinois.gov. The Village of Westmont is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of Westmont for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. An optional Pre-Proposal meeting will be held in-person on April 26, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. The pre-proposal meeting will be held at Westmont Public Works, 155 E. Burlington Ave. Rejection of Bids. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
