The D12 Reconnecting Our Communities Study (Study) will seek to improve safety, accessibility, and equity to reconnect District 12 (D12) communities in which Caltrans' facilities create significant barriers to these goals. The Study will accomplish this by identifying priority communities and developing conceptual alternatives of potential infrastructure projects with grant-ready cost estimates to provide D12 and local jurisdictions with the tools to pursue discretionary funding and/or utilize local funds to complete these projects. Study deliverables shall also include detailed Community Engagement Packages for each project location including community profiles, stakeholder information, and strategies to ensure the community continues to be engaged through all stages of project delivery. The Study will support the District¿s and HQ's efforts related to eliminating barriers by taking a holistic approach to transportation and land use by applying Caltrans' Reconnecting Communities Handbook principles, along with measures of safety, accessibility, land use, stakeholder and community input, to identify, develop, and ultimately deliver projects that advance Caltrans and project goals.
