United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) will host the FY06 Focused Forum #1 on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 (8:30 - 11:30 AM). Focused Forums provide the command an opportunity to disseminate joint capability focus areas information to industry, academia, and government agencies to discover innovative solutions for a specific operational issue. This forum will address the capability focus area of Visualization Technologies. Primary objectives for the upcoming forum include:• Terrain visualization capabilities, including time-tagged data visualization, geo-referenced and geo-tagged data visualization, and comprehensive map and data overlays. • Enhanced battle space visualization in mission rehearsal tools. • Enhanced capability to interface with and display information on virtual and constructive forces to live forces and command elements participating in joint training events and programs. The USJFCOM Focused Forums enables the command to disseminate information on joint capability developments, and following the forum, permits industry and other interested communities to provide relevant contributions. The forum meeting will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center, 900 Greenbrier Circle, Chesapeake, Virginia, (http://www.chesapeakeconference.com/). This event is free to the public and seating is limited on a first come basis. Approximately six weeks later on Wednesday, 25 January 2006, USJFCOM will provide forum attendees the opportunity to demonstrate potential solutions to capability needs presented at the Focused Forum. This trial pilot demonstration program will provide both USJFCOM, industrial and academic developers an immediate window of opportunity to rapidly demonstrate potential solutions. Any forum attendee interested in performing a demonstration must submit a 1-3 page abstract discussing the capability they wish to demonstrate. From these submissions, USJFCOM will select the demonstrations desired for review. Deadline for submission is 13 Jan 06. Companies will be notified for participation by 18 Jan 06. Each demonstration will be conducted before a panel of USJFCOM subject matter experts and will last 30-min followed by a 15 min question and answer period. In the event the number of parties requesting demonstrations exceed the number of slots available: 1) USJFCOM will select demonstrations based on a review of the abstract submitted. 2) Additional demonstration may be scheduled at a later date.
