BLM intends to award a sole source contract to Snodgrass and Associates for continued development of the spacial data management system. The development effort was originally awarded under a fully competed purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures. Award to any other vendor would likely result in a substantial duplication of cost that is not expected to be recovered through competition. The contract will provide for completion of the development effort and performance of any required maintenance through June 2005.
