The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA intends to issue a competitive Solicitation for the acquisition of Scientific Support Services for development and scientific maintenance conducted in numerical weather, water and climate prediction. This contract will provides scientific support services to the National Weather Service, National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) for programming support to research scientists and visiting scientists in the development of new algorithms, model parameterizations, and analysis techniques to improve numerical weather and climate forecast products. Specifically, support services are required in the following task areas: Mesoscale Modeling Support, Global Modeling Support, Ocean Modeling Support, Climate Modeling Support, Systems Development Support, Model Test Facility Support, Operational Ensemble and Day 3-7 Forecast Support, and Program Management and Library Services. Work will be performed at the Government site in Camp Springs, Maryland. The period of the contract is anticipated to be sixty (60) months.
