1. The contractor shall engineer, furnish, install and test an Adtran OPTI-6100 OC-48 SONET Multiplexer in building 6265 Redstone. This Multiplexer shall be provisioned as a node to an existing 3-node OC-48 SONET Ring. The OPTI-6100 OC-48 chassis shall be equipped with common cards, OC-48 optics, DS1 Tributary Module (DS1 VEME) and high capacity fan assembly with heat baffle and fiber routing tray. For backup power, the Contractor shall furnish and install a Total Access Battery Backup System and a Power Supply/Battery Charger for the system. The Contractor shall terminate the DS1 output of the OPTI-6100 in an RJ Jack Panel. The Contractor shall use existing government furnished fiber optic cable to connect this Multiplexer to the existing OC-48 SONET Ring.

2. The Contractor shall perform all tasks in this PWS with a minimum amount of service outage to the system's existing services. Any required service outage shall be scheduled outside normal duty hours and only after written release from the Network Enterprise Center (NEC-R) point of contact listed below.

3. All work performed in tasks one (1) and two (2) above shall be performed by and managed by Adtran certified personnel. In lieu of certification, the Contractor may provide the government proof of experienced personnel with this product in the above specified application. The Contractor shall provide the government proof of and contact information of previous jobs similar in scope performed by the personnel and the company.

4. The Contractor shall provide all materials required in this PWS for a complete and operational system to include optical attenuators, fiber patch cords and cabling.

5. The Contractor shall update the OC-48 SONET system's circuit mapping and provide to the NEC-R.

6. The Contractor shall label all equipment and outside plant cables in accordance with the NEC-R standard numbering and labeling scheme. Call the NEC-R Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) below for exact details.

7. All work shall be In Accordance With (IAW) all references listed throughout the PWS to include Sit Unique Requirements and the Army I3A Technical Criteria.
