The Government intends to award a noncompetitive acquisition with Cingular using simplified commercial item acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Parts 12 and 13 for overseas cellular phone service. Required services include 4 phones, family plan rates, 2100 combined minutes per month, and pooled minutes. Coverage must include at least the following countries in the western hemisphere region: Canada, Mexico, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Jamaica, Curacao, Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Belize, Chile, Peru, Guatemala, and Guyana. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; this acquisition will be processed using the authority in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). See note 22 with the exception that the time period is 7 days instead of 45 days. Solicitation is not available at this time. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to change the acquisition strategy.
