The Social Security Administration intends to issue on a sole- source basis a firm fixed priced purchase order to Acquire Media Corporation to renew an electronic subscription entitled: NewsEdge Insight/NewsEdge Live for online access to real-time news feeds from the following sources: AP Wash Report; AP in Brief; eMedia Political Transcripts; Federal Register; Reuters News Report and USA Today. Period of performance will be for a 12 month period beginning October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. Under FAR Part 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Simplified Acquisitions Procedures under FAR Part 13 will be used. NewsEdge is a provider of real-time news and information products and services for nearly 2000 corporations and professional service firms worldwide. It specializes in combining proprietary technology, content and specialized editorial products to deliver customized information and search options. Acquire Media specializes in news and other time-sensitive content, acquiring it from publishers and distributing it to corporate servers, websites and end users. They deliver more than 500,000 news articles a day, over the public Internet, with near-zero latency. They are regarded as one of the industry's most technically-sophisticated media delivery service for aggregated content. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to renew its subscription with the Acquire Media Corporation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication.
