The Uniformed Services University of the Health and Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, MD intends to acquire on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1 (b) with Verizon to supply 50 IPRS ports with ATM access. This service is being procured as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures.Verizon is the only source to provide IPRS service in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The service is essential to ensure a secure LAN connection among the USUHS community via Verizon's fast packet network.
