The Farm Service Agency of the United States Department of Agriculture is requesting information from industry regarding the availability of a commercial, off-the-shelf, device that provides wireless email synchronization for GroupWise. The following capabilities are required and the solution needs to provide: (1) DesktopEmail synchronization between Windows CE device and GroupWise 5.5/6 email system; (2) Desktop Email synchronization between Windows CE device and MS Exchange 2000 email system; (3) a turnkey solution for synchronization with a Windows CE PDA/Phone wireless device; (4) secure end-to-end encryption of data using a wireless VPN (128 bit data encryption) for wireless transmissions; (5) user-preference based message routing, corporate authentication, strong encryption for messages, offline data access, and cradle-free (wireless) operation for both synchronization and remote device administration. The remote device administration is a critical feature. In addition, the solution needs to reside within the existing corporate firewall and use the existing corporate infrastructure. The device must reside behind the firewall and user authentication to the device must occur through the existing SMTP gateway. Interested sources should provide brief capability information and a detailed description of their product(s) meeting the above requirements.
