HQ AMC Contracting has elected to extend the Global Transportation Network (GTN) Contract with Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems & Solutions for twelve months citing the authority 10 U.S.C.2304 (c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. GTN provides USTRANSCOM Intransit Visibility for passenger, cargo and supplies moving through the Defense Transportation System. A contract was awarded in August 2003 to Northrup Grumann Mission Systems for the replacement system entitled GTN 21 which is currently under production. Due to schedule slips, it is necessary to extend the GTN contract for an additional twelve months. Once GTN 21 is accepted by the Government, GTN will be dismantled and proceed to closing down the sites which includes disposition of Government equipment. At the present time, LMIS&S is providing maintenance activities that include identification, analysis and repair of software deficiencies in developed LMIS&S software and integrated COTS products. Additional support includes operational type requirements such as System Administrators and Operators, Database Management, Help Desk and Outreach support. Questions may be directed to Mr. Don Tucker, Contracting Officer, at (618)229-5003.
