Under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement with MICROMEDEX INC, 6200 SOUTH SYRACUSE WAY, ENGLEWOOD,CO 80111-4740 for continued licensing, patches, maintenance and upgrades to DRUGDEX System, POISINDEX System, CareNotes System, DRUG-REAX System, DISEASEDEX Emergency Medicine, Martindale, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS), PDR, REPRORISK System, IV INDEX System and TOMES System, and KINETIDEX System for a subscription period of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006 This announcement notice includes the following locations: VA Medical Center Minneapolis, VA Medical Center Ft. Meade & Hot, VA Medical Center St. Cloud , VA Medical Center Sioux Falls, VA Medical Center, VA Medical Center Des Moines, VA Medical Center Iowa City, VA Medical Center Omaha. NAICS code 514199 applies to this procurement. The MICROMEDEX INC. products are proprietary and wholly owned by MICROMEDEX INC.. MICROMEDEX INC. will provide software maintenance, technical support, customer service, and software enhancements. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government’s minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302 and under Commercial Item Acquisition, FAR Part 12. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to this requirement or to submit proposals by September 23, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before September 23, 2005 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
