The U. S. Geological Survey, Central Region, Geospatial Information Office, National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Missouri Office (USGS), located at 1400 Independence Road, Rolla, MO 65401 has a requirement to collect GNIS data for 10 counties in Central Iowa. Data will be ingested into USGS GNIS data base to build the National Map. This project will expand on existing geocoding effort that Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IADNR and other state agencies are currently involved with. This project will take advantage of the methodology, resources, and organizational contacts that are being utilized by Iowa's Geocoding Project, this eliminating any duplicate efforts and associated costs. Based on information available, and in accordance with 41 USC 253 (c) (1) and as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1) (i), the USGS considers this requirement to be a sole source to Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IADNR), 109 Trowbridge Hall, Iowa City, Iowa 52242-1310. IADNR has unique and essential qualifications as stated above. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered for future awards.
