The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown, New Jersey, intends to modify an existing to contract to maintain coverage for Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) services on the VA Region 1 Telecommunications Business Office (R1 TBO) infrastructure. TAC intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price modification to GCI Communication Corporation, 2550 Senali Street Ste 1000, Anchorage, AK 99503, pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." However, in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The period of performance is 30 days, plus five, 1-month options. The proposed modification is for LEC services to include: plain old telephone services/business lines, trunks, primary rate integrated services, direct inward dialing, Centrex, digital subscriber lines, Metro E data services and features of caller identification, call forwarding, voicemail, call blocking, and standard regulated tariff fees currently being provided at the below listed facilities in Alaska.
