Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego intends to issue a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 12 and Part 13.5 to Franklin Covey, 2200 Parkway Blvd., Salt Lake City, UT 84119-2099 for 2,000 each Custom Pocket Slim Planners (undated) with compass pouch. The Custom Pocket Slim Planners (undated) with compass pouch will be utilized in conjunction with Franklin Covey leadership classes. The reason justifying the lack of competition is that the planners were prepared and produced as teaching aides for the prototype leadership class. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, and in conjunction with the USS Nimitz standardization program, only these specific Custom Pocket Slim Planners (undated) with compass pouch will satisfy the USS Nimitz's need for additional planners or other training material related to this leadership course. Only one source is available for this effort. The planners are commercial items. Commercial procedures as outlined in FAR 12 and 13.5 are applicable. This notice constitutes a Request for Quotations. No other solicitation will be issued. The closing time and date is 12:00 P.M. (PST), Friday, 26 June 2009. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and will be advised as to how to submit their product(s) for future evaluation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by the closing date of the Request for Quotation set forth above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
