The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to The Scripps Research Institute for the purchase of Glycan Reagents. This laboratory is experienced in the generation of small molecular weight glycans related to the products we require for assessing influenza virus receptor specificity. We conclude that there is only one source that can provide the reagents we require and will give us continuity for ongoing studies, particularly with minimal disruption to our ongoing work.
