The US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the US Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center, intends to award a sole source contract to Beam Engineering For Advanced Measurements (BEAM) of Orlando, FL under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) to acquire 16 custom diffractive waveplates.

Competition was limited to BEAM, because BEAM has invented a one of a kind instrument to producing custom diffractive waveplates with 6.4 micrometer square pixels over a working area of 12.3mm X 6.9mm. They use their own developmental materials that have shown diffraction efficiencies greater than 99%. They can tune their process to any operating wavelength. They have demonstrated high optical clarity.

All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
