The Translational Gerontology Branch (TGB) in an inter-laboratory collaboration with the Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience, Laboratory of Cardiovascular Science, Laboratory of Clinical Investigation, Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Immunology, Laboratory of Molecular Gerontology, and the Comparative Medicine Section will conduct a longitudinal study of aging in mice to identify biomarkers shared with humans that could serve as predictive factors for disease initiation and increase in mortality risk. This is a project funded by OSD funds as part of the inter-laboratory research proposals.
The contractor will provide custom breeding to generate mixed background offspring. Shipments of 50 males and 50 females at 4-6 weeks of age and age-matched controls (50 males and 50 females) will occur every 12 weeks. All offspring need to be obtained from mice with HET3 genetic background.
