PROJECT TITLE: ROAD REHABILITATION AT CRAB ORCHARD NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, MARION, IL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Fish and Wildlife Service requires construction services for the rehabilitation required to address the deterioration of priority roadways, parking lots, turnarounds and associated improvements at the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge located near Marion, IL. The general scope of work includes bituminous overlays, bituminous pavement reconstruction, pakring lot reconstruction, culvert replacement, and other construction activities associated with this type of work. The project consists of approximately six (6) to seven (7) miles of roadway and five (5) parking lots. This project consists of a Base Bid and four Alternates; Alternate A, Alternate B, Alternate C, and Alternate D. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated that wil require performance and payment bonding to cover the estimated ceiling magnitude cost of the project. ESTIMATED MAGNITUDE: The magnitude of this requirement in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement is issued unrestricted, and is NOT set-aside exclusively for small business concerns. For information purposes, the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, and the small business size standard is $33.5M. The solicitation package will be available via electronic commerce at http://ideasec.nbc.gov and http:///www.fedbizopps.gov on or about August 10, 2010 with a bid opening occuring on or about September 10, 2010. The Solicitation Package will include the following: An itemized Bid Schedule, Scope of Work, Drawings, and Prevailing Wage Determinatin.
