The FAA intends to issue a single source acquisition to Cortron Inc., 59 Technology Drive, Lowell. MA 01851. This acquisition will acquire specialized keyboards ERAM D/A ââ¬âPosition Keyboards Keycap Layout, and ERAM R- Position Keycap layout with programmable capability.
The cost is estimated as $185,266.00 for 174 each Keyboards, for estimated delivery Oct. 1, 2016.
This acquisition will be issued IAW AMS 3.2.2.4 Single Source based upon standardization.
The FAA En Route Air Traffic Control facilities utilize highly technical, specialized Keyboards for aircraft and air traffic control data input. The Keyboards have special features that were developed for and are specific to the FAA En Route facilities. This acquisition will update the FAA Academy classrooms and labs that are used for training Air Traffic Controllers. The keyboard is proprietary to the vendor and the specifications are uniquely integrated for the FAA. This acquisition will ensure standardization of keyboards that meet the strict and unique requirements set by FAA Air Traffic Program Office. Market research was limited to identifying distributors for these customized keyboards per Internet search, and no vendors were identified.
