The Library of Congress FEDLINK Program intends to negotiate a Basic Ordering Agreement with the Copyright Clearance Center to provide copyright compliance services for FEDLINK customers. The Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) is a not-for-profit corporation which was formed in response to the Copyright Act of 1976. CCC provides a means whereby copyright owners and users of copyrighted materials have a mechanism for dealing with the requirements of the Copyright Act of 1976. The Act provides that uses of copyrighted materials (including photocopies) are made only with permission of the copyrighted owners. Acting as an authorized agent for over 9,200 registered publishers worldwide (who themselves represent hundred of thousands of authors), CCC can authorize copying from over 1.75 million titles. NO TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Written responses should include prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability and must be submitted within fifteen (15) calendar days of this notice. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT SHALL BE ISSUED. No award will be based on any offer received in response to this notice.
