The Department of Commerce, Enterprise Service – Acquisition (ES-A), Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price purchase order under the provision of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 to National Bureau of Economic Research, Inc. This contract will provide a membership that will allow NBER to support its mission by obtaining access to conferences and to primary data users.  BEA needs to have open discussion of its methodologies, research, and practices in order both to maintain the objective quality of BEA statistics and to promote understanding of the U.S. economy.  The Membership obtains access to an audience of academic professionals specifically interested in U.S. income and wealth measurements. Institutional membership in an organization like CRIW supports BEA maintain its leadership position in economic statistics. Presenting methodologies and research to CRIW – an academic community that is specifically knowledgeable on income and wealth measurement issues of the U.S. national accounts – is vital to BEA in reviewing, verifying, and promoting its own statistical methodologies. Therefore, the sole source award to National Bureau of Economic Research, Inc., is in the best interest of the government. Notwithstanding, any vendor who believes it is capable of meeting the BEAs requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which will be considered only if received by June 11, 2021, by 3:00 pm EST.
