The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 intends to negotiate with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, Thornwood, NY 10594, pursuant to 41U.S.C.253(c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is to procure for the Fluorescence Microscopy and Imaging Center (FMIC) a Zeiss LSM 880 with Airyscan Confocal Microscope with 34 Channel Spectral Detection. The Zeiss LSM 880 is needed to replace the FMIC's Zeiss LSM 510. This replacement will allow for the utilization of current software and provide NIEHS researchers' continuity of ongoing research projects, the ability to open older microscope files and the ability to replicate and preserve the integrity of their experiments and research. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting written capabilities/specifications, for this requirement, to the contract specialist the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quote; however, all responses received within 5 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The award is subject to approval of the justification for other than full and open competition. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC.
