Notice is hereby given that the Village of Westmont will accept proposals for an exclusive contract servicing the collection of solid waste, recycling, compost and yard waste service in the Village exploring both residential and commercial services. INTRODUCTION The Village of Westmont, a non-home rule community, has a residential population of 24,677; 11,307 households are serviced (8580 households and 2727 senior households) with over 1,237 local businesses, and is located in the western suburbs of Chicago. The Village of Westmont, DuPage County, Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as “Village”), a municipal corporation acting under its statutory non-home rule powers, is seeking proposals for the establishment of Solid Waste, Recycling, Compost and Landscape Waste Collection and Disposal Service. The proposal submission will incorporate three separate propositions to review: an exclusive Commercial and Residential service, exclusive Residential service, and an exclusive Commercial service. Any firm (hereinafter referred to as “Contractor”) interested in submitting quotes for such services shall submit proposals as outlined in the request. OBJECTIVE: At this time the Village seeks to award an exclusive 5 year contract for curbside collection of refuse, recycling, compost & yard waste for all single family residential, and additional refuse collection of commercial multi family, and commercial business locations within the Village. The goal of the Village is to encourage waste reduction and promote recycling in the community. Currently, the 2021 recycling diversion rate in the Village was 22.8%. The Village is in hopes of increasing this to 30% by 2025, and interested in service ideas to achieve this goal.
