The purpose of the contract to be awarded as a result of the upcoming solicitation is to secure construction services for a project consisting of the following major items of work:
Remove and replace damaged sections of 2" bituminous plant mix walkways within the Coho Campground (approx. 625 square yards, SY). Remove tree roots, rocks and other material within walkways prohibiting leveling of the base course. Design and construct new bituminous plant mix walkways from existing walkways to the new restrooms, building and kiosk aprons (approx. 666 SY), meeting USDA Forest Service Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guide (FSORAG) requirements. Remove and repair a portion of the picnic parking area (Approx. 20 SY). Install two (2) ten (10)-foot sections of PVC-Coated RGC 1-1/2" electrical conduit capped on both ends, twenty four inches (24") deep for future use.
A Request for Quotations - Construction (RFQ) solicitation will be issued for the performance of all work items. This acquisition is set aside in total for small business concerns.
The Government's estimated range for this construction project: $25,000 - $150,000.
The construction period will be from approximately September 12, 2011 - October -31, 2011.
