The Naval Air System Command intends to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Contract to Apache Enterprises for the manufacture/delivery of non-developmental bezel instrumentation lighting kits. These bezel lights shall be designed and constructed to meet the requirements of MIL-L-5057F and SAE AS50571, shall be 5 VAC compatible and shall be identical to the Customized bezel and aircraft installation design that have previously been evaluated and tested in the E-2C and C-2A aircraft. For FY 09 a total of 987 red bezel lights(non HE2K E-2C aircraft) and 84 green bezel lights (HE2K E-2C aircraft) will be ordered. The contract will include options for 241 Green Lights in FY 10, 265 Green lights in FY 11 and 101 Green lights for FY 12. As sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of these cockpit lighting kits, only Apache has the requisite knowledge and experience required to successfully manufacture the kits without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of cost to the government.
