The Federal Highway Administration intends to award a sole source purchase order to the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) for the Co-Sponsorship 2011 National Bike Summit.  LAB educates members on the issues related to bicycling, legislative issues, value of trails, safe routes to school, transportation planning and safety.  Additionally, FHWA's participation in the conference with LAB will help implement federal programs related to bicycle and pedestrian activities, safe routes to school, transportation enhancement activities and recreational trails.  They are considered the only source and organizers for their conference.  All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.  The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.  This is a Simplified Acquisition and the total estimated value is not to exceed $11,450.00 anticipated award date is February 9, 2011.
