The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (¿BOR¿) as ¿Owner¿, on behalf of the University of Georgia, ¿User¿ is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing construction management at-risk services for the construction of a project known as Project No. PPV-10-2501, ¿Creswell Hall Renovation¿ at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. Project Background Creswell Hall, opened in 1963, is an approximately 188,149 square foot, 955 bed high-rise residence hall that houses first-year students. This high-rise is located near Brumby and Russell Halls, Black-Diallo-Miller Hall, and the low-rise Hill Community. Creswell Hall is in the Mid-Century Modern style and constructed of brick masonry core with a curtain wall of aluminum and porcelain panels similar to the nearby Hill Community. Creswell Hall was named for Mary Ethel Creswell, the first female to receive a degree from UGA. Mary Ethel Creswell also served as the first dean of the then School of Home Economics, established in 1933, and served as Dean until 1945. Project Description The proposed Creswell Hall project mirrors the scope of the Brumby Hall and Russell Hall renovations by including reconfigured living and program spaces, collaborative community spaces, exterior envelope maintenance and improvements (including new windows, sealants, and curtainwall refurbishment), ADA improvements, complete replacement of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (including new fan coil units and connection to District Energy Plant 1), stairwell pressurization, and elevator upgrades (including stretcher elevator). The proposed Creswell Hall renovation project will offer a variety of common area spaces, from large meeting rooms to more private meeting/study spaces, smaller kitchenettes on all floors, and community bathrooms with enhanced privacy features. The renovated facility will also include a larger community kitchen to encourage shared cooking and eating experiences, and the laundry room will double as a student lounge allowing studying, socializing, and laundry monitoring in a shared common space.
