The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is seeking a Consultant to develop an Active Transportation Plan (Plan) and implement a Go Human demonstration project for the City of Wildomar. The Plan shall assess, at minimum, existing conditions, identify proposed improvements, conduct comprehensive stakeholder outreach and identify funding strategies for implementation. As part of the stakeholder outreach for the Plan, the project shall also implement a Go Human demonstration event in the City of Wildomar. Go Human demonstration projects provide an opportunity for communities to educate residents and stakeholders on safety and encouragement and showcase innovative design treatments that are catalytic in maximizing the walking and biking trips in the community. These design treatments require robust and innovative outreach to educate elected officials, residents and other stakeholders on project benefits and impacts. The events are effective in dispersing safety and encouragement messaging and instrumental in advancing infrastructure projects either in conceptual, design or implementation phases. The Consultant shall coordinate with SCAGâs existing Go Human program resources to promote active transportation, plan and implement a Go Human event in the City of Wildomar. Additionally, this plan will contribute to and utilize to SCAGâs Active Transportation Database. The Regional Active Transportation Database, an award winning database created by SCAG and Metro, is used to collect and map bicycle and pedestrian count data at specific intersections to help determine where walking and biking are occurring, compare it to collision data and plan for infrastructure improvements. The count data collected throughout the MATP planning process will be provided to SCAG to further improve the tool.
