An American 599C Drag Link Excavator needs to be removed from a lime sludge dewatering lagoon located at Palm Coasts Water Plant #1. The mobilizing tracks are in poor condition, one of the tracks is in-operable and therefore the machine will not crawl. A site visit is required to assess the equipment and job site access. The method of removal is to keep the machine intact and loaded onto a trailer to be hauled away. This has been the selected method to minimize any potential hazards of breaking down a machine of this size on City property and within close proximity to drinking water treatment processes. After some investigation and based on speaking with tow trucking vendors, bidders on this job must be prepared to complete the job knowing that this is an extremely heavy piece of machinery that will take major equipment to move to complete the project. Cline Construction will provide the low boy trailer that will remove the Drag Line from the site. The chosen vendor will need to coordinate with the City and Cline on schedule.
