The NIST Safety Health and Environment Division (SHED) has purchase 20 concurrent licenses and technical support for CISPro Chemical Inventory Software from Chem SW, Inc. CISPro is a relational database customized for chemical inventories that provides the following:
• tracking individual containers through bar coding,
• storing material safety datasheets and other hazard information for each chemical, and
• generating reports required for regulatory compliance.
The NIST-wide chemical inventory has used CISPro software over the past 2 - 5 years
The MSDS database used by NIST is CHEMWATCH. CISPro is directly linked and compatible to CHEMWATCH, which facilitates the transfer of information and the identification of chemical hazards.
