The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Compliment Laboratory, Adx Labs, National Jewish Health, 1400 Jackson Street, Denver, CO 80206, to pursue studies on the role of alternative pathway in the pathogenesis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, including testing of all eight (8) complement components and split products in a laboratory reputed for these services. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy the Agency's requirements because it provides a laboratory that can perform all of the testing that is requested and necessary for the study. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
