The USDA Forest Service, Chippewa National Forest, located in Cass Lake Minnesota anticipates issuing a Request for Proposals to provide reroofing a 3- Story Historic Log building. The project will involve the tear-off and replacement of the existing asphalt shingles. The general size of the roofing work is about 50 squares. The removed shingles and metal flashings must be recycled. Additional work will also be included: special flashing of log walls, over-decking small entry canopies to restore drainage, waterproofing of log beam pocket bearings, and removal/replacement of seamless gutter and downspouts.

The contractor(s) shall provide all expertise, labor, supervision, services, equipment, tools, supplies, and permits (when and if required), transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete this project.

The building will remain in operation by Forest Service staff and the public during the work.
Price range is between $35,000 and $60,000.
