The objective of the Project is to construct a bypass piping system between two existing sewer assets in the public or city right-of-way near Cesar Chavez and to enlarge existing air-release valves near the intersections of Indiana and 20th Streets and Indiana and 25th Streets. The work includes construction of 48-inch and 66-inch diameter valves and piping; mechanical joints; associated subsurface underground valve-vault (supported on piles); associated mechanical, electrical; I&C work; aboveground electrical controls; PG&E electrical service connection; ARV replacements; associated street restoration; other appurtenances related to the major scopes of work. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 16.00% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division). SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 16.00% LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement. Please contact Michelle Kassatly at 1-408-641-8031 and [email protected] for further information. Subcontracting opportunities may include, but not limited, to the following major types of work: traffic control, excavation, trenching, dewatering, demolition, steel pipes & installation, trucking, below-grade concrete vault work, concrete work inside confined space conditions, and roadway restoration work. A new pre-bid and contractor networking conference will not be held. SFPUC encourages Bidders to submit a Safety Prequalification Form as soon as possible. Bidders are required to pass the Safety Prequalification prior to SFPUC considering their bid submission complete. SFPUC will notify Bidders who have passed the Safety Prequalification prior to or on the date of Bid opening. Refer to Section 00 21 13 – Instructions to Bidders, “Bidder Qualifications” and Section 00 45 12 – Safety Prequalification for additional information. A Class “A” California Contractors License is required to bid. Furthermore, each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work each subcontractor will be performing.
