The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, intends to issue a purchase order with ZF Marine to overhaul The Reduction Gear (ZF2550) on the CGC Sea Lion. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

ZF Marine LLC is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and holds the technical specifications and data for the Reduction Gear (ZF2550) overhaul. The requirement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the government will consider all information received within five (5) calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis.

A Determination by the Government not to compete as a result of information received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
