The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone Small Business concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), 8(a) certified Small Business concerns, Women-owned Small Business concerns or Small Business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238350, Finish Carpentry with a small business size standard $14.0M. The total estimated value of the procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000 (inclusive of option item). Bid, payment and performance bonds will be required.

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking Interested Vendors with the capability, successful past performance and current relevant experience in window installation, masonry repairs finish carpentry skills. Contractor must have personnel, equipment, capability and bonding capacity to perform window installation at Station Shinnecock. Window units shall be manufactured by one manufacturer. Work includes removal of existing window systems, flashing trim (interior & exterior) and moldings; modify existing window openings and provide new aluminum-clad wood window systems (rated for wind and impact requirements specified). Some windows require existing framing modifications. Option item includes repair of foundation cracks, brick veneer repair, chimney flashing repair and exterior painting. The performance period is estimated to be approximately 180 days. Your response should include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as prime contractor; (b) a statement identifying your certified small business designation; (c) evidence of successful past performance/experience in the following areas - (1) window installation, specifically addressing that contractor is approved by specific manufacturer and has experience on at least ten projects of similar nature in the last five years; (2) masonry skills related to repairing brick veneer cracks and chimney flashing, and (2) finish carpentry skills - to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers; and, (d) provide evidence of bonding capacity to the maximum magnitude of the project, to include both single and aggregate totals. Your response is required no later than 26 May 2011. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on an applicable set-aside.
