The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with and subsequently award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), CFM International (CFM), a division of General Electric of the United States and Safran Aircraft Engines (SAE) of France), Cincinnati, Ohio for the purchase of one new CFM56-7B24E engine with no operational time. This acquisition will be pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. CFM is the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the CFM56 family of engines, and is the only source for new CFM56-7B24E engines with no operational time.
