10:30 am Music Accompanist for Catholic Mass

A. Nature of the Roman Catholic Music Program
The 1030 Music Accompanisst is responsible to the Wing Chaplain through the Catholic Chaplain/or his designate for the keyboard acompaniment of Liturgical Music associated with the 1030 Catholic Mass. The contract requires the arranging, coordinating, selecting, ordering, and playing of music in coordination with the Catholic Music Coordinator and the Catholic Chaplain. Each unit lasts approximately one (1) hour in length, not to include necessay preparations and warm-ups prior to services.

B. Requirements For The Sunday Catholic Music Accompanist
114 Units
1. Provide rehearsed instrumental keyboard accompaniment to support 1030 Catholic Sunday Mass to include liturgical responses, choral and congregational singing, and instrumental selections when appropriate: 52 units
2. Accompany weekly adult choir rehearsals. One combined choir rehearsal can be conduted to meet the weekly rehearsal needs for both the 1030 and the 1700 Weekend Masses: 52 units
3. Provide any and all music accompaniment for special services including, but not limited to, Holy days, Christams Pageant, Passion, Sacramental Celebrations and others approved by the Catholic Chaplain Advisor: 30 units

Relationships:
1. Work in conjunction with the 1030 Cantor/Music Coordinator and Catholic Chaplain Advisor who will also monitor the Music Accompanist's compliance with the Statement of Work.
2. Either pary without reason with a thirty (30) day advance notice can terminate this service.

Security Requirements:
1. The Music Accompanist shall make arrangements to received and ensure that all facility and equipment keys issued for this contract by the US Government are secured and are not accessed by any unauthorized person. No Keys issued to the Music Accompanist by the US Government shall be duplicated.
2. The Music Accompanist shall ensure that the building is secured after all activities under his/her control.

Government Furnished Property:
1. The Music Accompanist will be proved a location, generally in the Foothills Chapel, to accompany all choir rehearsals.
2. The Music Accompanist will exercise proper care over chapel music equipment and insure tha there are procedures in effect to protect and safeguard shuch equipment and to insure that it is kept in serviceable condition. The Choir Musician will submit approprite requests for new equipment, replacements, and repair.

Administrative Requirements:
The Music Accompanist will be paid by the unit not to exceed the amount appropriated for this service. the Music Accompanist will certify and submit completed units authorized under this service each month to the Chaplain Advisor, on the chapel invoice/receiving report designated for that purpose before any payments will be made. Special Services are also to be recorded and submitted with the chapel reports. The Music Accompanist is self-employed and responsible for payment of all taxes due, including State and Federal.

Substitution:
When any substitution for the Music Accompanist is necessary, every effort possible will be made to notify the Catholic Chaplain or his designate at least 7 days prior to the scheduled Service. A substitute musician will be a person of equal or higher qualifation and approved by the Catholic Chaplain or his designate.

Qualifications:
1. The Music Accompanist must prossess a working knowledge of Catholic Rites/Rituals and have a minimum of two years of experience working with choirs, cantors, and congregations in the Catholic church. Must be able to sigt-read music from the OCP series, GIA/Gather, and other music specified by the Catholic Chaplain or his designate and the Catholic Music Coordinator.
2. A Bachelors Degree or the equivalent in Music and a minimum of 5 years of formal keyboard and choral arts training.
3. Two years experience, as a minimum, in coordinating and accompanying religious pageants.
4. Be able to accompany music inclufing various additional musical instruments in the worship service.
5. Must be able to work with a diversity of volunteers and flexible time and schedules.
7. Must dress conservatively and professionally, commensurate with the environment and dignity of each worship service.
8. Undergo successful background criminal history checklist at local, state and national levels [Public Law Number 101-647, Section 231; Public Law Number 102-190; and resulting Department of Defense Instruction Number 1302.5 require personnel contracted for child care services in every facility operated by the Federal Government to undergo success ful background criminal history check at local, state and national levels. "Shild care servies: includes personnel contracted for such services in base chapel programs whose work brings them into the contact with children less than 18 years of age.

Procedures:
Any eligible person may interview with Wing Chaplain, Catholic Chaplain, Cahpel NCOIC, and any other person or substitute deemed appropriate by the Wing Chaplain.
