THIS AMENDMENT TO ANSWER 2 QUESTIONS THAT EMERGE:

QUESTION 1: Can you reconfirm the sample serial number for the engines? From the information I can glean from the CAT database, I believe these parts are part of a CAT 3406B engine that should have a serial number that begins with "6TB"

QUESTION 2: Are all 5 engines the same arrangement?

ANSWER 1: Here are two more sample serial numbers. These came off two of the previous long blocks that we bought from CAT last year.

#1: 17200385

#2: 17200360

The bottom line is we need CAT long block part #0R-3751 as the engine.

ANSWER 2: Yes, all 5 engines are the same arrangement. Also, this purchase is for 5 CAT long block engines, part #0R-3751. We will not accept a rebuilt CAT engine .....it must be CAT part number 0R-3751.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The solicitation reference number F4ATA34183A001 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-60. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small businesses under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 335312. The small business size standard is 1000 Employees. A firm-fixed price purchase order will be awarded in accordance with FAR Part 13.
