The Navy intends to procure this effort under the authority of 10 U.S.C 2304(C)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Since most of the parts required need to be installed shipboard within 24 hours of requisition, Lockheed Martin is uniquely positioned with as the Logistics Support provider with the cache of parts required to successfully satisfy this effort within the schedule required. A solicitation is not available for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
