The Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) intends to issue a fixed-price, sole source contract to CascadeMicrotech, Inc. to provide, deliver, setup, install, and verify and demonstrate correct operation of one (1) 1164 Reliability Test System (including all system-specific software), to include all system-specific, industry-standard warranties. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." CascadeMicrotech, Inc. is the only known manufacturer that produces a compact test system capable of handling twelve simultaneous, independent tests. CascadeMicrotech, Inc. is the only known supplier of the ovens and related, essential equipment. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 333242 (semiconductor machinery manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation of offers. Organizations may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative written responses are received by the due date indicating that comparable source exists, a contract will be placed with CascadeMicrotech, Inc.
