-Maintenance and Technical Support for CarSim RT Full Host and Target with Sensors for dSPACE
-Maintenance and Technical Support for TruckSim RT Full Host and Target for dSPACE with Sensors
The Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract for the purchase of the items described above with: Mechanical Simulation Corporation, 755 Phoenix Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
The Government has determined that no other source can meet this requirement as Mechanical Simulation Corporation, the manufacturer, is the only source that provides the maintenance and support of the CarSim and TruckSim software. CarSim and TruckSim software deliver accurate, detailed, and efficient methods for simulating the performance of passenger vehicles, light-duty trucks, and multi-axle commercial and military vehicles on the dSPACE machine. The software provides the models, with the equations, solution methods, inputs, outputs, and post-processing tools. CarSim and TruckSim enable the analyzing of vehicle dynamics, developing active controllers, calculating a truck's performance characteristics, engineering next-generation active safety systems and engineering next-generation security systems.
The purchase of the CarSim and TruckSim maintenance and technical support will allow for the use of the dSPACE hardware in the loop (HIL) simulator. The dSPACE simulator is an advanced and complex machine currently in use with AFRL/RITA research. The dSPACE simulator is used in testing powertrain, vehicle dynamics and body ECUs allowing for realistic unit tests, function integration tests, real-time simulation and can be used in both open-loop or closed-loop environments. It consists of processor boards and I/O boards, simplifying adaptions and modifications that are due to project
requirement changes.
This is a notice of proposed contract action and NOT a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency. All inquiries should be sent by email to [email protected]. Responses must be submitted by the date/time listed on the notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or before 1 October 2017.
A Sole Source Justification will be attached to the subsequent Notice of Award.
