Model 1430 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for a period of one (1) year (01 May 2010 - 30 April 2011). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a sole source requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive quotes. 45 CONS/LGCB, Patrick Air Force Base, FL, 32925 intends to award to Carl Zeiss SMT, Inc., One Corporation Way, Peabody, MA 01960. Carl Zeiss SMT, Inc., is the only source capable of fulfilling the government's requirement. Carl Zeiss SMT, Inc., is the sole producer and supporter of the hardware required if necessary. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Carl Zeiss SMT, Inc. is the only source capable of providing the exact replacement parts if required which are only available through Carl Zeiss SMT, Inc.
