Based on the responses received from this Sources Sought notice, the proposed acquisition may be solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All eligible small business concerns responding to this announcement must have the capabilities to provide the below product within 120 days after receipt of order. Delivery will be made to the Clinical Center located on the NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD.
The Division of Intramural Research Programs (IRP) at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has a current requirement for a high resolution capillary electrophoresis system in order to perform gel electrophoresis. The division of Intramural Research Programs at NIHM conducts gel electrophoresis including genotyping of products, diagnostic digests, and sub-cloning for DNA. Gel electrophoresis is also used for rough quantitation for RNA and protein.
Contractors shall propose a capillary electrophoresis system enabling high detection sensitivity with generation of robust results in lower concentrations of nucleic acid. The system proposed by Offerors shall also be capable of performing fully automated purification of nucleic acids and proteins for research use in molecular biology applications, including an integrated touchscreen and automated load check to ensure samples, reagents, and labware are correctly loaded.
