The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Sole Source Contract with The Boeing Company, 6200 JS McDonnell Blvd., St. Louis, MO, for an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) in support of the AV-8B improved canopy latch. The improved canopy latch option is a replacement of the existing AV-8B canopy latching system with the Boeing Company developed over center latch design. This change will be accomplished through a forced retrofit installation at the depot level for 118 AV-8B aircraft. The period of performance will be from award until 30 September 2019.    

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government.
