This Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's issuance of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, "Calumet Harbor Break Water Repairs, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois (USACE Acquisition)."

                                                               
 

PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract, the project will consist of the placement of new armor stone and resetting existing armor stone as needed.  Repairs may change the existing footprint of the structure, but are unlikely.  The new stone would range from 2-5-tons.  Repairs to the Breakwater would likely be conducted by a barge-mounted crane, barges carrying rock, tugboats, and support vessels. Transport of stone would likely be via Lake Michigan.

ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is restricted to HUBZone Small Businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, with a small business size standard in dollars of $39.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.

IN THE CASE OF A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE DATES PUBLISHED IN THIS NOTICE AND THOSE CALLED OUT IN THE IFB DOCUMENT, THE DATES IN THE IFB DOCUMENT OVERRIDES THOSE PUBLISHED HEREIN THIS NOTICE; THIS IS RELATIVE TO THE IFB ISSUANCE DATE AND THE DUE DATE FOR BIDS.
