With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Calumet Harbor Dredging Project.  The Contractor will perform maintenance dredging in the Calumet river and in Calumet Harbor entry way.  An amount 53,000 cubic yards (total for Base Contract with 2 Options), including over dredge, of sediment will be mechanically dredged to maintain the entry way into Lake Michigan and upstream Calumet Harbor to allow navigation.  The project area has multiple locations with about 90 control points.  Each location in the Calumet River will be dredged mechanically to depths of -27 LWD, plus a 1' allowable over-dredge.  Any location in the Calumet Harbor will be dredged mechanically to depths of -28 LWD, plus a 1' allowable over-dredged.  The dredged sediment will be deposited in Government furnished CDF by mechanical means only.  All dredging and sediment placement work must be conducted per the IEPA Permit for more information see Specification Section 01 57 20.01 03. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990 - "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction" this acquisition is TOTAL HUB-ZONE SET-ASIDE.  The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million.   The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.  The Invitation For Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY.
