The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Climatic Data Center has a requirement for calculations of tropospheric and stratospheric temperatures from Microwave Sounding Unit (MSU) measurements.
This procurement is being issued on a full and open basis and the applicable NAICS code is 541712. The Federal Supply Classification (FSC) is F999. Because there is no consensus on which method for estimating temperatures of the atmosphere from MSU measurements is most reliable, the government intends to award two firm-fixed price purchase orders for this requirement utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. This will provide the best available lower and upper bounds of possible atmospheric temperatures.
