The VA Medical Center, Bath, New York is seeking professional architect/engineering firms to provide construction documents, working drawings, specifications and cost estimate, shop drawing review and construction period services as required for two separate construction projects at VAMC, Bath, New York. 1. Renovate ward 3B for semi-private rooms. 2. Upgrade emergency services building No. 14. A/E shall survey for Asbestos, and provide Asbestos Monitoring Services during Construction as needed. Design shall meet VA Master Specifications and Space and Planning Specifications as outlined in VA Handbook 7610. Design must show all phases in the construction plans if they are needed. Those construction documents and phasing drawings should cover, but not limited to Demolition /Asbestos Abatement / New Construction provided with the 100% submission package. All designs must be certified by a licensed engineer. The first project will make the current space in Bldg 76, third floor, into private or semi-private rooms. A new HVAC System will be installed. The controls must include a central energy management system, capable of being integrated with the entire HVAC System building wide and be networked into a campus wide energy management system in the future. Capabilities for positive/negative pressures will be incorporate with proper air changes. Currently the rooms in the "3B" acute care ward, are not for private or semi-private. The current VA criteria are written for private or semi-private rooms. The second project will correct the deficiencies with the HVAC, upgrade and increase capacity of the electrical system, and improve the overall work flow throughout the building. The building is the 24/7 tour and needs the upgrades to improve work areas and the sleeping quarters of the emergency services group. A new HVAC System will be installed/incorporated into bldg.14 and the controls must include an energy management system. It will need to be networked into a campus wide energy management system in the future. Capabilities for positive/negative pressures will be incorporate with proper air changes. The following evaluation criteria will be used during the A/E selection process: 1. Specialized experience of the firm to perform the work required. 2. Capability of the firm to perform the work within required time frame. 3. Past Performance. 4. Specific experience and qualifications of the proposed personnel assigned to the project design team. 5. Geographic location of the firms working office in relationship to the renovation site. Firms desiring consideration must have a working office located within 150 miles of the Bath, New York city limits. All interested A/E firms are invited to submit Standard Form 330, Architect Engineer Qualifications and for any consultants, on SF 330 Extra Sections E and F. The estimated construction cost for the 3B ward Renovation is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.oo.
