This facility will provide support for the Predator Flight Training Unit (FTU) operations and a training base for the Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) operations. The facility will consist of a 626 SM (17,500 SF) pre-engineered metal building with 11,500 SF of hangar space and 6,000 SF of office/shop space. The building will house MQ-1 and MQ-9 unmanned aerial planes. The building will be of the preengineered type, with a standing seam roof and metal panel siding. The main portion of the structure will consist of a 175 ft. X 60 ft. clear span hangar bay with minimum 28-6 clear height. A separate 40 ft. deep lean to structure flanking the back side of the hangar will house shop space and office/support areas. The interior walls will consist of metal studs and gypsum board in office areas and concrete masonry units for shops and shop support areas. The hangar bay will have an 8-0 high metal liner panel on all walls, with exposed vinyl faced insulation on walls above liner panel and roof.
A pre-engineered metal building will make up the building envelope consisting of columns, roof trusses, roof purlins and wall girts. The foundation system will consist of a combination of spread footings
and grade beams. A Geotechnical Investigation, dated July 16, 2009, will be attached to the solicitation.
The magnitude of construction, as defined in DFARS 236.204, is between $5M 10M
